Set once again in the first-class municipality of Lingayen, athletes are sure to have first-hand experience of the “Heart, Soul, and Face” of Pangasinan. The route of the race is strategically coursed to feature the beauty and hospitality of the place. “I’m very excited to do the race. For my first impressions of Lingayen, the roads are really great, the open water, the sea is very calm and nice,” states Monica Torres, Elite Triathlete, Tigasin Triathlon 2017 Female Overall Winner.

Other than the captivating scenery of Lingayen, athletes likewise look forward to the warm cheers and friendliness of the people. Nikko Huelgas, SEA Games Gold Medalist and Tigasin Triathlon 2017 Male Overall Winner, shares his experience, “Grabe talagang ang sarap ng feeling na lumaban dito sa Pangasinan. Sobrang well-organized ‘yung event. ‘Yung mga locals lumabas para sumuporta. Sobrang nakaka-enganyo from the swim to bike to run. Sobrang pumapalakpak sila, sumisigaw, kaya ma-enganyo ka talaga mag push hard eh.”

Beauty queen and triathlete Alexandra Faith Garcia echoes Huelgas’ sentiments as she recounts her experience, “Sobrang saya ng Tigasin Tri kasi sa swim pa lang sobrang daming spectators during the bike and then during run. Lahat ng tao na madadaanan mo i-chi-cheer ka talaga and sobrang ganda din ng venue.

Tigasin 2018 is set to surpass its predecessors with the aid of the provincial government of Pangasinan, led by Gov. Amado “Pogi” Espino III.
