LeBron James won’t be making an appearance in this year’s Federation International Basketball Association (FIBA) tournament as he will be filming Space Jam 2.

United States head Coach Greg Popovich announced the roster without James for this year’s FIBA tournament. The cup will take place on Aug 31 – Sept.15, which falls on the exact same time James will be filming his movie.

“I love everything about Pop, obviously, but this is not a good summer for me,” James told The Athletic’s Joe Vardon

However, the two-time Olympic champion mentioned that he won’t be closing his doors to the 2020 Tokyo Games.

James has also been shut out by the Lakers in this National Basketball Association (NBA) season after ending it on a 35-42 record. Los Angeles will carry on without their star player for the remaining five games of the season.

Space Jam 2 starring LeBron James is scheduled for a 2021 release.
