Dubbed as the first and largest mixed martial arts event promotion in the country, the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC)  has promoted more than 90 fights in the Philippines since its conception in 2002. This year, the URCC will hold its first championship fights on Apr. 27, 4pm at Cove Manila, Parañaque, Metro Manila.

Filipino fighter Chris Hofmann and American Musa Conteh will battle for the middleweight title. Meanwhile, for the flyweight title match, defending champion and Pinoy fighter Mark “Mugen” Striegl will go up against Japan’s Shunichi Shimizu. The fight for the welterweight title (the competition’s main event) will have Filipino champion John Adajar face off against Miguel Mosquera, another local fighter in the lineup.

A three-on-three match will also be part of the URCC match line-up as the Philippines will go up against fellow Asian country China. Representing the Philippines are Sugar Ray “The Mammoth” Estroso, Brian “The Batman” Paule, and Mark “The Wolf” Palomar versus China’s  Tian Hong Yan, Zhao Sigi, and Zhouzhe Yihang.
