Despite it being her first SEA Games tournament, Torres has already made a name for herself in the Powerman Asia Duathlon Championships. The 34-year-old has been dominating the international tournament for the past three years. She’s also known as the fastest Filipina in the Philippines’ Ironman 70.3 races for the past six years now.
The Philippines also secured a podium finish in men’s duathlon thanks to Joey delos Reyes. Delos Reyes secured silver after finishing the race with the official time of 1:53:04 behind Indonesia’s Jauhari Johan (1:52:51) while Thailand’s Nattawut Srinate settled for bronze with a time of 1:53:05.
