Diaz dominated the overall lift category after lifting 212 kilograms

Hidilyn Diaz brought home three gold medals in the 55-kilogram women’s division tournament in the 2020 Weightlifting World Cup held on Tuesday in Rome, Italy.
Diaz dominated the overall lift category with 212 kilograms, the clean and jerk with 119 kilograms, and the top the snatch category with 93 kilograms. The 2016 Olympics silver medalist outlasted Ukraine’s Kamila Konotop and Tunisia’s Nouha Landoulsi.
Diaz aims to make her fourth straight appearance in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She has a couple more tournaments to go and expects representatives from countries like China, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan to compete at the same level as her for the Olympics slot.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympics berths will be released in April at the Asian Championships in Kazakhstan.
