LeBron James won’t be making an appearance at this year’s Federation International Basketball Association (FIBA) tournament as he will be filming ‘Space Jam 2.

United States head coach Gregg Popovich announced the roster without James for this year’s FIBA tournament. The cup will take place from Aug. 31 to Sept. 15, which falls on the exact same period James will be filming the movie.

“I love everything about Pop, obviously, but this is not a good summer for me,” James told The Athletic’s Joe Vardon

However, the two-time Olympic champion said that he won’t be closing his doors to the 2020 Tokyo Games.

James has also been shut out by the Lakers this NBA season after ending on a 35-42 record. Los Angeles will carry on without their star player for the remaining five games of the season.

‘Space Jam 2’ is scheduled for a 2021 release.
