LeBron James has his eye on a few top players to join him in his venture but has yet to close some of those deals

After deciding to take some time off this summer to produce “Space Jam 2,” in which production begins on June 17, LeBron James is reportedly having trouble finding co-stars for the long-awaited sequel.
According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, James has been reaching out to some of the top players in the league but has yet to close major deals.
“In all honesty, he’s been recruiting players to come and try to be in “Space Jam” with him this summer and he hasn’t been able to close some of those deals,” Windhorst said. “He’s recruiting for his movie as well as he is for the Lakers.”
Hoops hype reporter Bryan Kalbrosky added that players don’t want to join “Space Jam 2” possibly because the pay offered might not be high enough.
James, who will also be producing the film, told The Hollywood Reporter last September that his vision for “Space Jam” is more than just a regular cartoon movie.
“The ‘Space Jam’ collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie,” said James. “It’s so much bigger. I’d just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don’t just give up on their dreams.”
Whether or not the sequel will be able to live up to its iconic predecessor (which starred Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, and Shawn Bradley) will mostly be up to James. Let’s just hope he gets to recruit co-stars soon.
