John Chicano breaks SEA Games triathlon record while Kim Mangrobang successfully defends her title

The Philippines started the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) on a high note after claiming two gold medals in triathlon held at Subic Bay Boardwalk in Zambales on Sunday, Dec 1.
It was John “Rambo” Chicano’s first place victory that bagged the country’s first gold medal in the biennial tournament. Chicano finished the race in 1:53:26, marking a SEA Games record as well. Not long after, Kim Remolino came in second, clocking in at 1:55:03. The duo completed the third straight 1-2 finish by the Philippines in SEA Games men’s triathlon.
The women’s team also secured one gold and silver medal courtesy of Kim Mangrobang and Kim Kilgroe. Mangrobang successfully defended her title after finishing the race in 2:02:00 while Kilgroe completed the 1-2 finish with a time of 2:05:02.
