The Pasig City government has signed an executive order on Mar. 25 that declares biking as an essential form of transportation during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ). This means that Pasig City residents are permitted to use bikes for important movement around the city.

The key provision of the executive order states that bicycle shops primarily engaged in the repair and maintenance of bicycles are allowed to operate and will be classified as an essential business during ECQ. City departments have also been advised to upgrade and repair the streets of Pasig City to make it a bike-friendly city.

Since the lockdown, Pasig City has been a huge advocate of using bikes for mobility. On Mar. 17, the city repurposed bikes for frontliners and healthcare personnel in light of the suspension of public transport.
