Popular health and fitness app MyFitnessPal was confirmed to have been hacked in February, the largest so far this year, after US sportswear brand Under Armour disclosed that at least 150 million user accounts were compromised.

Among the stolen data were usernames, email addresses, and “hashed” passwords, but financial information like credit card details, which are processed separately, were not affected.

An email from chief digital officer Paul Fipps was sent to subscribers stating that “On March 25, 2018, we became aware that during February of this year an unauthorized party acquired data associated with MyFitnessPal user accounts.”

While there were no details yet on who was responsible for the security breach, Under Armour has said it is already working with security experts and law enforcement to investigate the issue further. The company has since urged users to change their passwords immediately.

The reactions however have been amusing to say the least.
