The run emphasized safety and well-being, requiring all participating pets to be on a short leash, in good health, vaccinated, and at least six-months-old. In contrast, the 2Km Obstacle Run, which began in waves starting at 5:30 a.m., catered to more adventurous participants. Participants in this run were also provided with race bibs with timing chips, and all finishers were awarded a Meadowcrest Backyard Adventure Finisher Shirt, symbolizing their accomplishment.
