At this Makati gym, you can get strong with AI-driven equipment

The idea of a luxury boutique gym isn’t new but Kinetix Plus in Makati has a few new tricks up its sleeve

“Let’s get physical” might be your new mantra this October once you’ve seen the new luxury boutique gym, Kinetix Plus.

Built on the third level of the Shops at Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati City, Kinetix Plus is home to state-of-the-art facilities that could help make getting fitter a little happier and more fulfilling, including the first Biostrength line machines in the Philippines, which are AI-driven and patented by NASA. The modern gym also comes with bespoke gym equipment—from racks to plates that are custom-made based on the coaches’ exact specifications and what they want their clients to experience.

“It’s a vocation of ours to spread the word that you have to be stronger physically because physical strength encompasses your physical capacity,” says head coach and co-founder Marlon Lugue. As a powerlifter and fitness professional for nearly two decades, Lugue has long been an advocate of strength training.

A clean, well-organized, and safe fitness center is a top priority for Kinetix Plus

“At Kinetix Plus, we’ll have this tool called a strength meter, it’s basically a battery of tests that determines your current fitness level. We plot that against their individual goals… It gives us a clearer picture on who you are right now in terms of activity level and what you can do right now,” he says.

Inclusivity is also a main driving force for the luxury gym, which only intends to accept 250 members to keep the client-to-coach ratio to a more comfortable level where attention and focus aren’t sacrificed. This ethos lends itself into the space where the lighting, sound, and smells help enhance the workout experience.

You can grab a bite to eat and a cup of coffee without leaving the gym

Relax at the in-house café after a hard workout session

“To provide a more holistic approach to the clients, we’ll also have a café where they can grab a bite or get coffee,” shares administrative director Luis Gatmaytan, who is also a licensed physiotherapist that will lead the recovery service of Kinetix Plus.

“We’ve added a few modalities for recovery that are not available in our other gym… like this exercise with oxygen therapy, you have a surplus of oxygen while you’re doing cardio exercises. We also have infrared and red-light therapy available. We also have percussion therapy for everyone to use as well as an infrared dry sauna, to name a few” says Gatmaytan.

Building a strong body isn’t necessarily easy but thanks to the likes of Kinetix Plus, anyone can get a helping hand to transform themselves into what they can truly become.
