The Aussie’s fitness secret? Being one with nature, both in diet and exercise

Liam Hemsworth was on full display in his latest Instagram post where he posed shirtless in tiny shorts during his ice bath. Now, Hemsworth doesn’t post pictures of himself often, so it’s a rare occasion fans celebrated about.
Coming off films such as “The Hunger Games” and “Independence Day: Resurgence,” it’s no surprise he looks the way he does. Though, you’d probably be surprised to find that his diet and workout are not what you’d expect.
Surprisingly, Hemsworth told Men’s Health last year that he doesn’t like “generic weightlifting.” “I’ve been trying to spend as much time outdoors as I can: cycling, playing soccer or basketball, going for two-hour hikes, and doing as many push-ups as I can on the way.”
He’s also into a lot of adventurous sports like surfing. Healthy Celeb says he enjoys fast-paced exercises where you do a lot of different things, like Tabata and high-intensity interval training.
An interesting tidbit about Hemsworth is that he actually follows a vegan diet. He first started back in 2015 and considers his ‘Hunger Games’ co-star as inspiration. While he says it’s also for health reasons, the idea of animal mistreatment made it harder for him to stomach meat.
“After all the information I gathered about the mistreatment of animals, I couldn’t continue to eat meat. The more I was aware of, the harder and harder it was to do,” he told Men’s Fitness. As a result, Hemsworth started eating more beans, rice, and salads, admitting that the change in diet made his energy levels more consistent.
